John Rogers1
Relationship | 7th great-grandfather of Dan Stone |
Daniel Rogers (died 2 February 1806), governor of Delaware, is said to have been a close relative of John Rogers. Daniel Rogers and Hannah Scarborough Wise are shown to supposedly be their most recent common ancestors at The Matthews of Delmarva website (http://matthewsofdelmarva.org/p113.htm#i5892). This seems to be contradicted by the account on page 506 of the book Biographical and Genealogical History of the State of Delaware, Volume 1 (http://books.google.com/books?id=k7UNAQAAMAAJ), but the account in this book seems questionable as it says James Rogers (the father of Daniel Rogers) emigrated to colonial America in 1665. Daniel Rogers is recorded as having been born circa 1754 (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=7447873).
